An end to TSA

Every Summer, our airport enlists the help of traveling officers (National Deployment Officer)to come help us through our busy, busy summer. We threw them a BBQ again this year to thank them. This was a great group of officers and we were sad to see them go. The end of summer also brought and end to TSA at the Bozeman International Yellowstone Airport. Our airport board voted for a private company to run security and they took over Sept 1 of this year. Many officers stayed and many officers left. Some wanted to keep TSA benefits, and TSA let them transfer to wherever they wanted with a relocation package. I of course chose to stay because we love Bozeman and I hadn't been with TSA long enough to be vested with them. The new company is called CSSI Firstline. It is a joint venture with Firstline running BZN, and CSSI running Kalispell, W. Yellowstone and Butte. We really didn't know what to expect. We knew our pay and benefits, but we couldn't really do anything until Sept 1 with the new management. I promoted to Trainer, which meant....Dun Dun Duh.....FULL TIME. With my new position I had to take full time. But, it was perfect timing with Gunner going into Kindergarten full time, so I went for it. I LOVE my job. I train new hires, do computer work, lots of paperwork and I laugh a lot with my co-trainer Ryan and the office staff. So, I haven't been slacking on the blog, just trying to balance it all. Chris makes it all happen. He helps out around the house and with the kids just as much as I do. It has been a very easy transition!
