Sophie the Brave

Sophie started her at her new school today. Back when we moved we talked about just letting her finish the school year at the old-new school. But then my schedule changed back to AM's (0430 start) and so we decided to have her switch schools at the semester. We walked around the new school playground (which was a big hit and helped get her excited) we took a tour, and we explained that she would make friends in the neighborhood and have close friends when summer hits. All was going to plan, and the night before the last day of school at the old-new school she was teary and sad to leave. We talked and hugged and I went and took pictures of all her friends, class, teachers etc. She made it through the next day and so she started yesterday. She said she had a great time. Her teacher is named Mrs. Henderson and seems very nice. There are only 2 first grade classes (A very small district :) ) and she got to be in the same class as the girl she had met at the monkey bars this last Fall. Off to a good start. She got off the bus and said it all went well. So glad. It was a hard decision because she was doing well in the other school, but she is very social and I just felt like she needed to get her foot in the door in the new neighborhood so she would have lots of close friends.

A few days ago we had PERFECT snow man building weather.  Today I picked up Gunner from school and he looked older.  Sad Face.  They are growing up before our eyes.

Gunner is actually smiling normally and realizes that if he smiles right the first time, camera time goes by much faster.

Outside of her new class room.
These pictures are off my phone and look fuzzy but this is one of Sophie's BFF Teagan.  She is a sweetheart and friends from the beginning.  They both share a love of TY beanie boos and it makes me happy that Sophie has lots of friends and likes to be social.
