Twenty Years
My sister has been with the Pasadena Fire Department for 20 years. They threw her a party and we went. The kids and I drove down and stopped in Vegas to see Doug's store and stay with Melanie. We stayed in Utah with Genevieve. Both kids learned to swim (proper swimmer as Gunner calls it) and Gunner even learned to wink! We ate In N Out, Del Taco, Slurpees, went to the Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach (first time in the ocean), the Arboretum, Tricia's fire station, saw my niece Kendall at BYU-I, Kidspace museum, Temple square and we walked around BYU for a bit. When not doing those things, the kids were in the pool. It was so fun showing the kids 'the big city' and all the different landscapes as we drove down. We left in rainy sleet and returned to the same weather. I was going to take the kids to Disneyland, but it was 100 for 3 days straight. TOOOO hot for Disneyland. I saw my friends Rachel, Melanie, Genevieve, and Ally.
The night of Tricia's party, we laughed, and danced and laughed some more. The 18 hour drive each way was totally worth it! We will be back soon California!

How awesome!! I think it's so cool to have loved ones all over the country and to be able to show the different states to our kiddos! I never left NC until I was in my late teens/early twenties and I think it's so neat that our kids have been mini-explorers already! Congratulations to your sister! Great that you got to see your family! Hope we get to see all of you this summer!
