Where does the time go?

I just can't believe that it is March already.  I feel like the time is slipping through my fingertips and I want to slow it down.  I know there are things that we have done that I have mentioned.  There are things the kids have said and done, and I have forgotten it.  Ugggghhh.  I guess I always feel like there needs to be a picture with each post, and then I don't want to hook up the camera and upload, so then I just don't do it at all.

so I am here at work on a quick break and back to the checkpoint.  I work 28 hours a week now.  I am doing some adminstration stuff, like payroll and manning sheets.  I really like it.  I am not trained to work down in baggage, so I am upstairs at the checkpoint, so this is a nice break.  I have my own little computer area and I like being in the know. :)  Working the weekends is getting old, but it works for now.  Chris has the kids when I am here and Jennifer watched G on Mondays and gets him off the bus Fridays and keeps him until Chris gets home to get Soph off the bus.  I only work one early morning, so it is NICE to not be getting up at 3 AM.

We just found out, finally, that we will be going private sometime during the summer.  That means we are losing a lot of people who want to stay federal and we will see a lot of people transition off to other jobs.  We have no idea what pay will be, what schedules will be, if they will honor our granted time off, who will manage us etc.  But, with all this going on, I have to say that I LOVE my co-workers on the PM shift.  We are old, young, male, female, tall, short, chunky and a few who are super muscley. :)  I laugh out loud a lot and can have a great conversation with any of them at anytime.  A few are going to be leaving us soon, and it feels like our little TSA family is breaking up.  I have really enjoyed the job and meeting new friends.  We hang out a lot together, go out to eat, play pool, hang out and it so fun.  I am sad that it won't be this way with these people much longer.  We work hard, support each other and still have a great time doing what we do.

The kids are in their 3rd week of ski lessons.  They both have helmets and are having a great time.  This is Gunner's first time with lessons and he has no fear.  I traded shifts last week so I could go up with Chris and get pics.  After lessons were over, chris took them on the snow flake lift and I took pics.  Gunner pointed his skiis downhill and never looked back.  Sophie is in a class with her friend Sophia and that has been fun.  I wish I could be up there with them every week, but I work.  I think after this season, we will be able to take them up with us and ski together as a family.

The kids are at great ages right now.  Gunner still loves going to school and is growing up so fast.  He is so sweet and says thank you and that was nice of you a lot.  He pops right out of bed everymorning and has a sweet morning disposition.  Sophie needs a little more help in the morning getting up but we have come up with a plan that seems to work.  Gunner gets up earlier than she gets up, so when we get him up, I turn on a couple of lights, make some noise and she is much happier when she wakes up on her own.

We went to Willow Creek Cafe last night with john and Amber Pommerville.  They have the best ribs and we had a fun time.  Amber does my hair and we just love them.  Great friends are the best.

I have to go to work now.  Just felt like I needed to get some of this down before a year goes by.

  1. Thanks for keeping up with the whole blog thing. I like to read about everyone and feel like I'm "in the know" too, with the kids especially and with you and Chris and the other adults. I have this entire side of in-laws that I don't really know and that don't know me, and this helps bridge it a little bit!
